Cloud computing has affected businesses across all industries like no other technology, but we have yet to see what it can really do.

Over the last 5 to 10 years, the Cloud has provided cheaper computing and storage capabilities, but this has slowly transformed to make way for new, Cloud-enabled innovations such as artificial intelligence and the Internet of Things.

This has ultimately put pressure on high profile businesses to use these features to their own advantages, and lead the way in new forms of business technology and digital transformation. If they’re not quick enough to keep up-to-date with transformations and innovation within their industry, then they get left behind.

Cloud computing has naturally evolved to become a normal daily process for the majority of businesses. There are multiple phases of the Cloud journey, including a mixture of public, private and hybrid-cloud environments, which is why many businesses can adopt these features, depending on their needs.

A few years ago, only big corporate businesses would even bother to mention Cloud computing in their boardroom meetings. Whereas now, businesses of all shapes and sizes see Cloud computing as a matter that is crucial to discuss, due to the amount of revenue it’s able to generate.

It has been said, that any businesses not evolving or adapting Cloud computing software in to their routine, are likely to fold or will at least begin to notice struggles within the business. If you’re not up to date, then you’re not being recognised.

As well as adapting cloud processes, it is important that a business have a certain level of knowledge around Cloud computing and what it can do, in order to keep up with the demands and expectations that their services are said to be reaching.

Although adopting a successful cloud plan won’t happen quickly, it has the potential to enable organisations to do things that they might not have thought was previously possible.
