On the 22nd February, leading local businesses joined forces to educate business leaders from across Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire on the power of data and risks associated to not managing or storing it efficiently.
Over 20 businesses attended to learn what exactly these risks are and why prevention is better than cure.
Held at Doddington Hall in Lincoln, the morning consisted of open networking with bacon rolls, a welcome from Phil Kelsey of Spiral Media, a thought provoking presentation from Stuart Pigram about cyber risk management, an insightful talk on ‘a data powered future’ from Jamie Allen from Experian, ending with a round the table discussion chaired by Phil Kelsey.
Some key insights that we have taken away from the event were that while the majority of business owners attending were concerned about cyber security, only around 10% were protected by cyber insurance, and many are still unsure about the GDPR regulation coming into effect in 2018, and were shocked to hear how much it could impact the way they use their data.
We are pleased to announce that feedback from the attendees was very positive, commenting that the presentations were all informative and interesting.
The morning ended with informal networking, giving attendees the chance to speak to the industry professionals. Below are the links to the companies who hosted the event:
